Job Requirements
- Monitors special education programs at the building level and collaborates on strengths and needs with administration including Director and/or Assistant Director of Special Education and building level administrators.
- Serves as the public agency representative designee at case conferences for the following: initial identification, reclassification, problematic, building transitions and move-in case conferences.
- Serves as TOR for students assigned by LSS Administrators (collects progress monitoring data, scheduling of case conferences, etc).
- Provides appropriate in-service opportunities to special and general education staff, parents, and community under the directive/supervision of LSS Administrators.
- Coordinates and provides all Nonviolent Crisis Prevention Certification (CPI Initial and Renewals).
- Coordinates debriefing meetings with building level crisis teams as needed.
- Assists in individual education plan audits/reviews for compliance once every 9 weeks.
- Assists in state and local assessments as needed
- Collaborates with the LSS Staff to create materials and train on LSS policies, procedures, and best practices of special education
- Assists LSS Administrators with compliance indicators for all special education laws, policies, and best practice.
- Communicates and Coordinates all Special Transportation Needs with the Director of Transportation
- Coordinates and provides in service training to Bus Driver and Bus Aides
- Assume other duties as assigned by the Director and Assistant Director of Special Education
Job Qualifications
- Five years special education teaching experience
- Indiana License of Special Education
- Must complete and clear all Indiana background check requirements for school personnel
- Must complete and clear drug screen
