Qualifications
What you'll do as a Renewal Coordinator:
* Accurately and efficiently manage the receipt, resolution, and association of written/faxed controlled-substance prescriptions or refill requests in a computer-based document management system.
* Consistently maintain processes to obtain and file timely, accurate documentation of legal prescriptions for controlled substances as required by the company, DEA, and pharmacy regulations, including but not limited to:
* Matching hard-copy prescriptions with existing Rx numbers.
* Processing C3-5 no-refill reports and weekly control reports.
* Generating and processing CII profile-scan reports.
* Filing legal prescriptions and signed physician letters by prescription number.
* Adjusting physician prescription status for future fills.
* Verify that order information is complete and accurate and complies with all DEA requirements.
* Contact prescribers for refill authorizations.
* File documentation and hard-copy controlled substance prescriptions as required by Forum, DEA, and pharmacy regulations. Perform additional clerical duties relating to the updating and organizing of information in the control area.
* Assist order entry with entering data and processing new prescriptions and refills for controlled and other medication orders.
* Other duties as assigned.
What we need:
* Current unencumbered license in the state of practice: Certified Pharmacy Technician.
* Experience in a specialized pharmacy order-entry environment and/or LTC pharmacy required.
* Meticulous attention to detail and excellent accuracy rate.
* Knowledge of DEA rules and regulations pertaining to long-term care pharmacy.
* Strong data entry, 10-key, and math skills.
* Demonstrated ability to set priorities, work independently and co-operatively with others within and outside the department.
* Excellent communication skills, including the ability to read, write and speak the English language in an understandable manner.
* Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Windows operating systems, Framework LTC, and document management software; able to master new programs quickly and efficiently.
* Able to operate pharmacy equipment and office machinery, with an adequate range of motion and mobility required to supply and operate such equipment, including the ability to sit, stand, bend, walk and carry items weighing up to 40 pounds.
