POSITION SUMMARYThe Urgent Care MA/NCT is responsible for providing professional care and clerical services for clinic patients following established standards and practices. They provide assistance to providers and other staff in coordinating patient care and functioning as a primary liaison between patients, staff, and providers. POSITION SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum Work Experience
- Patient care/Urgent Care experience preferred
- Required Licenses/Certifications
- NCT (Non-Certified Radiology Technician) registered by the Texas Medical Board
- or
- LMRT (Limited Medical Radiologic Technologist) registered by the Texas Medical Board
- Certified Medical Assistant or at least 3 years of medical assisting experience preferred
- Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are required, especially the ability to communicate instructions and procedures for treatments to promote a desired level of comfort and confidence to patients.
- Requires analytical capabilities and initiative to begin and complete projects and work independently- must be self-motivated, results oriented, and demonstrate integrity, honesty, and a sense of mission and loyalty.
- Computer skills required, including word processing and spreadsheets.

Accurately record information on chart/EMR.Perform invasive and noninvasive diagnostic tests including eye exams, electrocardiograph, pulse ox,peak flow/spirometry, inhalation treatment equipment and blood draws.Perform, collect, and label CLIA-waived lab tests in house and for send out.Perform both DOT and Non-DOT urine drug and alcohol tests.Remove sutures/staples and change sterile and non-sterile dressings.Explains any procedures and treatments that will be performed.Clean and sterilize both instruments and equipment after use.Maintain adequate level of supplies and instruments for use by the facility.Demonstrates the safe operation of equipment and machinery and follows procedures for reporting and correcting an unsafe situation.Prepare patient, machine, room, equipment and materials for x-ray.Properly position patient by arranging immobilization and support devices.Perform radiation protection techniques to limit exposure to patient and medical staff. Properly adjust equipment controls, determine proper voltage, and exposure time.Participate in Quality Improvement and Mandatory education/training programs.
