Job Description:

Pomeroy is looking for a skilled Mac professional to provide onsite desktop support in our Pittsburgh, PA location. This is a full-time benefitted position. Work Schedule: Mon-Fri 8 -5 The Mac Desktop Technician's role is to support and maintain in-house technology equipment and IT assets. This includes installing, configuring, diagnosing, repairing, and upgrading all hardware and equipment. The individual will also troubleshoot problem areas in a timely and accurate fashion and provide end-user training and assistance where required. Requirements

  • 5+ years hands-on Apple and Mac OS hardware and software troubleshooting
  • Mobile device support
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both Verbal and Written)
  • Leadership and mentor skills for junior members
  • Service Now or any IT ticketing platform
  • Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.
  • Able to meet strict deadlines and SLA's for sound ticket resolution
  • Ability to lift 50lbs
  • Associates or higher in Computer Related Field or IT Preferred
Responsibilities
  • End-User Support and education
  • Assist in logging, reporting, and monitoring PC and Mac performance
  • Accurately document hardware failure, repair, installation, and removals using Service Now.
  • Assist in developing long-term strategies to meet future computer hardware needs and life cycling of equipment.
  • Support development and implementation of new computer projects and new hardware installations.
  • Evaluate and recommend hardware products for purchase.
  • Recommend, schedule, and perform hardware and equipment improvements, upgrades, and repairs.
  • Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end user workstation hardware and network
  • Inventory monitors, keyboards, hard drives, modems, printers, scanners, and other peripheral equipment.
  • If necessary, liaise with third-party support and PC equipment vendors.

  • Associate degree in business, information technology, or CIS/MIS. You must possess an understanding of HDI best practices or be HDI certified.
  • A+ Certification/MCP is a bonus.
  • 2+ years of experience in a support role.
  • Proven technical knowledge and understanding.
  • Must be a resourceful and innovative problem solver.
  • Ability to work in a professional manner, be flexible, and handle interactions with all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate well with other members of the IT department and with non-technical end users.
  • Self-directed, organized, and motivated.
