Job Description:
We are looking for an Innovative, Problem-Solving Partner to join us as a Machine Designer in our Automation division. In this role you will focus on the design of automated manufacturing equipment. Duties and Responsibilities
  • Utilize CAD software to develop 3D mechanical machine designs according to organizational and customer requirements
  • Analyze engineering sketches, specifications and related data and drawings to determine design factors
  • Create 2D detail prints and layouts assemblies using proper dimensioning practices
  • Support all operations of AutoMatrix including Mechanical Machine Design, Program Management, Machine Builders, Purchasing, and Controls & Robotics.
  • Maintain a positive image to both internal and external customers
  • Work with the Business Development Team to understand the scope of projects including budgets and timing
  • Complete FEA analysis on fixtures and equipment
  • Complete full engineering packages of designs. BOMs, PM, LOTO, etc.
  • Be technical point of contact and manage outsourced designs when needed.
  • Work closely with vendors to specify equipment needed.
  • Prepare and develop sequence charts to validate both operator and machine cycle times
  • Formally communicate engineering designs and progress reports to customers
  • All other duties as assigned
CompetenciesEducation/Experience - Associate or Bachelor degree in Engineering/Design or appropriate combination of education and related experience. Technical - Must possess a strong mechanical aptitude. Technical knowledge of automation, manufacturing, tool and die, and production environments. Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and procedure manuals, design requirements, industry-specific diagrams and specifications. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Strong understanding of GD&TComputer Skills - 3D modeling proficiency, preferably using SolidWorks, and proficiency in Microsoft office products.Other Skills/Abilities -. Ability to work closely with our international partners. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.Who you will work with:
