Position: Machine Operator 1 (1st shift)Department: ProductionReports To: Team Lead, SaladsSalary Type: Non-ExemptLocation: Irwindale, CAPay: $18.25 an hourPosition Summary:This role is a key position within our Salads production room and operates and maintains the sealing machine equipment. This pivotal role impacts line efficiencies by increasing production, reducing rework and minimizing downtime.Key Responsibilities:Conduct pre-shift and post-shift inspections for qualityPerform basic preventative maintenance of the equipment when applicableBasic troubleshootingObserve production and monitors equipment to ensure safe and efficient operationManage and reduce waste (product giveaway) by use of scale systemCommunicate and educate other associates for the purpose of maintaining good product quality as it enters the sealing equipmentMaintain a clean and safe work environmentFollow and enforce the 5S Methodology including maintaining tools and equipment as defined by the 5S marking.Perform other duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications:Ability to read, write and speak English; comprehension of basic math.Willingness and flexibility to work in a cold, wet, fast-paced, 24 hour plant environment.Eager to learn, and work as part of the teamAbility to deliver consistent quality results through a sense of urgency and taking initiative, while also demonstrating flexibility to meet business needs.Attention to detail and reliability.Physical Work Environment:Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.Ability to move about within a fast-paced environment in/outside facility, and traverse between maintenance shop & production floor.Ability to ascend/descend on stairs/ladder for repairsAbility to position self to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawlAbility to frequently move, push, or carry items up to 50lbsExposed to a cold & wet environment of 34 degrees.Ability to work in outdoor weather conditionsMust be able to exchange accurate information through frequent communications within all levels of the organizationMust be able to detect, identify, inspect, observe, and assess surroundings#J-18808-Ljbffr
