Job Summary: This position involves operating a variety of mechanized bakery production equipment, including but not limited to ovens, dividers, proofers, slicers, baggers, and wrappers. The operator is responsible for ensuring that product specification standards are met, as required by company-authorized guidelines, while performing tasks safely and efficiently.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Load and unload pans from the production line.
- Load and unload the oven and/or proof box.
- Monitor and adjust temperature controls of the oven and proof room.
- Operate and control packaging equipment.
- Ensure proper bagging and sealing, if necessary, for each variety.
- Ensure proper slicing of products, when applicable.
- Verify product weights and complete orders as needed.
- Record key information such as downtime, waste, order completions, package verification, metal detector checks, finished product scoring, etc.
- Monitor for foreign material, particularly during changeovers, and ensure metal detection checks are performed.
- Ensure proper placement of products on trays and pallets.
- Remove finished packaged items from the machine and separate rejected items.
Food Safety and Quality:
- Take appropriate actions to maintain the integrity and certification of the food safety and quality system.
- Report and address any food safety or quality concerns promptly to prevent issues from occurring.
- Follow and enforce procedures outlined in the Food Safety Plan, the Food Quality Plan, and other programs supporting SQF systems and third-party audits.

Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, shifts, and holidays.
- Physical ability to push, pull, lift, carry, squat, twist, kneel, and reach.
