Tramec Sloan is currently seeking an experienced Legacy Hydromat Set Up Operator to join our manufacturing team, in Galion, Ohio. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining legacy Hydromat rotary transfer machines to produce precision components. This role requires a strong understanding of machining processes, attention to detail, and a commitment to producing high-quality parts.This is a full-time hourly position, with the flexibility for 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift and overtime opportunities. Pay Range $17.50 - $25 per hour based on experience with shift premium for 2nd and 3rd shift. Key Responsibilities:
- Set Up and Operation:
- Set up legacy Hydromat rotary transfer machines according to job specifications and engineering drawings.
- Load raw materials into the machine and adjust settings to ensure proper operation.
- Monitor machine operations to ensure quality and consistency.
- Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
- Perform routine maintenance on Hydromat machines to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve machine issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Replace or repair machine parts as needed.
- Quality Control:
- Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
- Dismantles machine or equipment, using hand tools and power tools, to examine parts for defects or to remove defective parts. Cleans, lubricates, and maintains machines, tools, and equipment to remove grease, rust, stains, and foreign matter. Observe and listen to operating machines or equipment to diagnose machine malfunction and determine the need for adjustment or repair.
- Sets up and operates machine and adjusts controls that regulate operational functions to ensure conformance to specifications. Lubricates, oils, or applies adhesive or other material to machine parts, or other equipment, according to specified procedures.
- Installs, replaces, or changes machine parts and attachments, according to production specifications.
- Document and report any quality issues or defects.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of machine settings, maintenance activities, and production output.
- Provide feedback and suggestions for process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in machining or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Hydromat set up operator or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of Hydromat rotary transfer machines and machining processes.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Proficiency in using measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and documentation skills.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy materials as required.
