Job DescriptionMonroe Staffing, a division of Staffing 360 Solutions, is currently hiring a Machine Operator for a large manufacturing plant that manufactures aerospace components and medical parts, located in New Bedford, MA. Eligible employees can elect from a variety of benefits plan choices, including Medical, Dental, Vision,Pay rate: $19.50/Hour 1st shift + WEEKENDS REQUIRED 4 DAYS PER WEEK, 10 HOUR DAYS SHIFT: 2 days of their choice during the week & Saturday - Sunday 6 AM - 4:30 PM Responsibilities of the Machine Operator (Ceramics Dept):
- Machine Operator will perform mechanical and visual inspection of ceramics using a microscope, calipers, and micrometers.
- Machine Operator will read product drawings and methods to visualize the machining/grinding to be done and plan the sequence of operation.
- Machine Operator will work with surface grinder, Bridgeport mill, OD grinder (Outer Diameter), ID grinder (Inner Diameter), wire bandsaws, and rotary grinders for manual machine operations.
- Machine Operator will complete documentation and maintain product traceability throughout the process.
- Clean and maintain equipment and work area following 6S principles.
- Machine Operator will perform safety checks on machines where certified to operate.
- Ensure machines are producing quality products by performing periodic checks on output.
- Machine Operator will carry out regular and preventative maintenance procedures.
- Conduct all tasks safely and efficiently complying with all company EHS Guidelines. Guidelines include participation in the required EHS training and the use of proper PPE.
Qualifications for Machine Operator (Ceramics Dept):
- Must be able to perform all the above job responsibilities satisfactorily.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Machining or related experience needed.
- Basic math skills.
- Background check/drug screening required.
- US Citizen or Permanent Resident alien of the United States.
Physical Requirements of Machine Operator (Ceramics Dept):
- Required to pass eye test.
- Required to stand, walk, and sit.
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 lbs., and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
- Vision abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
