Job Description:
Summary:Berberian Nut Company is seeking a proactive and self-motivated Machine Operator Lead to assist management with training the team members, monitoring production metrics and achieving quality, sanitation, and food safety standards.Responsibilities:
  • Becomean expert on the finished goods specifications and quality attributes of raw products.
  • Monitor processes and workflows for maximum efficiency using Key Performance Indicators.
  • Performs quality checks.
  • Manage inventory and report deficiencies.
  • Learn, understand, and teach on the SOPs, GMPs, HACCP, and relevant auditing procedures to employees.
  • Ensure appropriate standards of housekeeping and hygiene are maintained and in compliance with auditing body requirements.
  • Report maintenance and equipment issues using the work order submission program.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities and trainings.
  • Examine, address, and escalate any food safety concerns immediately to management.
  • Champion a world-class safety culture by attending all required trainings, supporting effective preventative maintenance programs, positive promotions, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory agencies and local policies.
Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of related/relevant experience. Nut/Food processing experience preferred.
    • Basic reading, writing, math skills with machine programming and computer competency. Mechanical aptitude helpful.
    • Strong demonstrated interpersonal, problem-solving, organizational and communication skills.
    • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
    • Valid Driver's license with ability to obtain and maintain forklift and aerial lift operator certification tests.
    • Willing and able to work rotating shifts including day, swing, nights. Shift may include long hours, overtime, weekends, and holidays, per company needs.
    • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job which includes regularly lifting and moving up to 30lbs, as well as specific vision abilities.
