Job Description:
The Fountain Group is currently seeking a Machine Operator/Manufacturing/Production Technician for a prominent client of ours. This position is located in Williamson, NY Details for the position are as follows: Payrate: $24/hr W2 (without benefits)Job Title: Machine Operator/Manufacturing/Production TechnicianLocation: Williamson, NYDuration: 6 months contract (possible extension/conversion based on budget/performance). Shift hours: 2-2-3 schedule; 12 hr/day shift.Night Shift: 6pm -6am 2-2-3 schedule: 2 day work; 2 days off; 3 days work; 2 days off; 2 days work; 3 days off and so on. The main skill set needed is mechanically inclined. Our machine operators are required to do light mechanical work. Job Description:
  • The Machine Operator II is responsible for the complete operation of machinery and related equipment.
  • Does necessary cleaning of machine for continual operation and keeps a clean and orderly work area.
  • Perform PMs & mechanical repairs, as defined in the Level1 (Operational) accountabilities.
  • Assists mechanics during repairs.
  • Must actively work to optimize machine and overall line performance.
  • Also must be willing and able to do changeovers.
  • Responsible for performing all required quality inspections and associated paperwork at assigned workstations.
  • Makes necessary process adjustments based upon data gathered during the quality inspection process.
  • Identify potential problems and correct situation or notify supervisor.
Job Function Statements - Essential Functions:
  • Operate machinery in accordance with on-line quality and Best Practice procedures
  • Handle cases
  • Perform Best Practice quality checks
  • Watch for defective materials
  • Clean and sanitize equipment and facility
  • Perform preventative maintenance
  • Complete mechanical repairs
  • Assist mechanics during repairs
  • Perform quality inspections and associated paperwork
  • Make data driven process adjustments
  • Troubleshoot potential problems
  • Train other operators
  • Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures
  • Wear all required safety gear and follow all GMP rules and regulations
Required Qualifications/Skills:
  • Ability to apply basic skills and develop advanced skills using tools and equipment appropriate for the position or specialization.
  • Ability to learn all the essential functions of the position with a reasonable accommodation if needed.
  • Resolve routine questions and problems, and refer more complex issues to higher levels.
  • Work under direct supervision and follow standard procedures and written instructions to accomplish assigned tasks.
  • Physical Requirements - required to stand for extended periods of time (duration of the shift, 8 - 10 hours or more, 5-6 days per week); walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch; bend continuously; or crawl. The incumbent must be able to climb stairs and ladders or step up onto a platform several times throughout the shift; and is occasionally required to sit. The employee must be able to push/pull/lift and/or move 75 pounds.
  • Work Environment - the employee is exposed to working temperatures of 50-100 degrees. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to occasionally loud, which will require hearing protection.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English
  • Must not be less than eighteen (18) years of age
