Find your future with us.The Tapping Operator safely operates tapping machines including loading parts into a bowl at or above shoulder height, replacing taps at predetermined intervals and removing chips from machines. Inspects parts visually and with thread plug gauge, along with filling out check sheet.PennEngineering is seeking a motivated, excited, individual to be a part of Sherex Fastening Solutions Danboro. WHAT YOU WILL DO:
  • Basic understanding of how to turn on the machine, indicate it, stop it, run it at full speed, and set jaws, fixtures, and vibratory feeders.
  • Ability to properly identify and retrieve tools for the scheduled job.
  • Proficiency in using hand measurement instruments (micrometers, indicators, calipers, thread gages, pin gages) to determine part conformance to specifications.
  • Ability to replace broken/worn tooling and make proper tool offsets.
  • Competence in reading basic part drawings.
  • Must be able to do basic daily maintenance of equipment.
  • Must be able to assist in long-term maintenance of equipment.
  • Must be able to trouble-shoot drilling and tapping problems.
  • Proficiency in Operating more piece of equipment at a time.
  • Moves oily product from tapping machine area to a skid or cart.
  • Tags containers to ensure product traceability.
  • Understanding of the company Quality Policy and the role that the Operator plays in furthering the goals of that policy.
  • Must exhibit an understanding of, and conformance to, the cultural principles of Sherex Fastening Solutions.
  • Safely, efficiently, and effectively makes product and communicates with set up person, team leader and team members to assist in meeting goals.
  • Participates in team meetings and works well with team members. Actively participates in continuous improvement activities to assist team in meeting goals.
  • Observe all safety regulations in all duties.
  • Performs other duties as required.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with co-workers on a routine basis.
  • 1-2 years' experience working in a manufacturing environment.

  • Able to lift up TO 35 lbs. from waist to floor up to 30 times a day.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist up to 10 times a day
  • Good visual acuity.
  • Must be able to stand approximately 8-10 hours/day.
  • Must be able to work in an unair-conditioned, well-ventilated and/or air-conditioned shop environment.
