Be a part of a team working closely with the customers, helping ensure all projects are a success.Position SummarySlitter Operator-Must be able, and willing to learn the complete operation of the Slitter. This includes but not limited to: Set up of knives, filling out daily production reports, reading a tape measure, changing over arms, operating and adjusting all controls required to run the Slitter, welding and cutting torch experience. Working with the other Slitter operator, and supervisors on daily production requirements.Primary Responsibilities:
Set up and operate designated machine -> EVG, similar to heavy mesh machine welder, Slitter, Serrator and other processing equipment per job requirements for operations. Start machinery, adjust as necessary to improve overall performance while minimizing scrap output. Perform quality control checks, follow recordkeeping procedures and report all problems to Management. Complete general fabrication tasks such as welding, plasma cutting, use of a torch, fitting, spot welding, and reading blueprints as needed. Comply with all safety and health regulations as specified by Management. Clean machinery and maintain clean work environment to include upkeep of work area, tool drawers, workstations, and footprint layouts as per 5S standards.Qualifications:
- 1. High school education. 2-year associate degree program at community or technical college desired.
- 2. Vocational school courses in mathematics and geometry, blueprint reading, mechanical drawing, metalworking, drafting and quality and safety practices are highly recommended.
- 3. 5 7 years related industrial experience.
Tools & Equipment:General hand tools used to assist in setup to include wrenches, screwdrivers, grinders, roller tables, jib cranes, overhead cranes, forklifts, welding, plasma cutting, and digital measurement devices. Use of a computer to monitor cutting program and update job progress and status. Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
