Position Overview:
This person will be a working lead within the Machining and Welding Departments.
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee the activities of the shop to produce quality products, meet customer due dates and specifications
- Quote and manage custom jobs
- Set up and operate conventional CNC lathes and mills
- Fabricate products to meet established quality standards and the requirements of our customers
- Determine training required for technicians and complete all associated documentation
- Develop cost reduction techniques and continuous improvement methods
- Establish and follow maintenance schedules for shop equipment
- Work alongside engineering in development of new product and procedures
- Provide technical expertise as needed
Job Requirements:
- Must have a proven ability to lead a team, 5+ years' experience in shop leadership desired
- Must have knowledge of theory and principles of machining and machine shop operations
- Associate's degree from two year college or technical school; 5+ years of machining experience and/or training including CNC programming (preferably conversational) and machining or equivalent combination and experience
