Responsibilities Position Summary: Job Purpose: The Extrusion Technician extrudes various tubing, rod, shapes and profiles used in the manufacturing of finished medical devices. The Extrusion Technician must be able to adjust extrusion lines to meet size specifications, resize jobs and operate extrusion machinery and related line equipment in a safe and effective manner. Technicians must understand and perform related tasks such as finished part inspection, material identification and handling, data collection and input and meet all related requirements for documentation and traceability. Responsibilities: Essential Duties The extrusion technician extrudes various tubing, rod, shapes and profiles used in manufacturing finished medical devices. The extrusion technician must be able to adjust extrusion line to meet size specifications, resize jobs and operate extrusion machinery and ancillary equipment in a safe and effective manner, following cGMP, quality and regulatory requirements. Technicians must understand and perform tasks such as finished part inspection, material identification and handling data collection while meeting all related requirements for documentation and traceability. Higher level technicians will mentor and train subordinates when requested and assist maintenance with simple maintenance tasks/work orders. The job function listed is not exhaustive and shall also include any responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor from time to time. Expertise: Knowledge & Skills Required to apply entry level working knowledge of technical field/area of specialization. Exercises general application of principles, theories and concepts, and proposes a course of action. Performs entry level shop floor competencies. Normally receives detailed instructions on all work. Work is typically checked and monitored on a routine basis. May require some limited judgement in resolving problems Contacts are primarily with direct supervisor, peers and subordinates. ID Target Based Range $21.76/Hr. plus shift differential Qualifications Expertise: Qualifications-Experience/Training/Education/Etc Required: High school diploma/G.E.D required, Associate's or technical degree preferred 0-0.5 years related experience OR PBS requirements completed and pass assessment at appropriate level. Ability to work non-standard schedule as needed Desired: Applicable industry/professional certification preferred.
