Summary: Operation and set up of machines according to quality specifications to ensure product conforms to finish dimensions. Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Sets up machine, including tool changes, according to instructions, specifications, and SOPs.
  • Selects, places and secures tooling in proper machine table, holding device, or other appropriate surface using clamps and wrenches.
  • Calculates material removal from part
  • Sets gages to measure OD, ID, 3pt race, and offset.
  • Sets and adjusts necessary controls to regulate machines
  • Follows all plant safety regulations.
  • Supports departmental performance goals
  • Must be able to learn and operate multiple machines
  • Performs other machining duties as assigned
Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to details.
  • Ability to sign off paperwork to maintain job accuracy and consistency.
  • Ability to work safely and wear personal protective equipment.
  • Ability to perform inspections and take responsibility for work quality.
  • Ability to use/read micrometers, calipers, and measurement gauges.
  • Ability to read/write/speak English.
  • Ability to work independently in a high stress environment.
  • Ability to determine whether machinery is working properly based on specifications for expectations such as fixtures, cutting speeds, or feed rates.
Special Requirements:
  • Candidates must pass a near vision eye test to Jaeger 1 and a color perception test.
  • Competent in general math.
  • Some knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Education Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
Physical Demands:
  • Must be able to move/lift up to 50lbs at times.
  • Must be able to bend, stretch, and climb to access parts of the machines.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
Working Conditions:
  • Works on a climate-controlled factory floor with small amounts of machine noise.
  • PPE required.
