ECG's products and services include crankshafts and eccentrics used in mechanical stamping presses, reciprocating air and gas compressors, reciprocating pumps, engines, mechanical shears, rock crushers, homogenizers and other miscellaneous applications. ECG services the locomotive, shipping, mechanical press, oil and gas and compression markets. Today, ECG has four facilities throughout PA. We are currently seeking a full-time Machinist I for our facility in Hermitage, PA and will assist all locations as needed. This non-exempt position could require overtime, weekends and rotating shifts as needed. QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or GED Valid Driver's License Three or more years machining experience preferred but not required Ability to use various measuring instruments, including micrometers and snap gauges Strong analytical skills and demonstrated problem-solving abilities Familiar with general computer applications Excellent organizational skills Must be results oriented with a strong desire to succeed Solid verbal and written communication skills Proficient at operating forklifts, overhead cranes, and other heavy equipment Previous experience in a heavy manufacturing environment Ability to work a variety of work schedules and overtime as needed Perform all work in accordance with Company safety rules Read and understand written instructions and work lists Basic shop math skills (Algebra / Geometry) Read and interpret manufacturing drawings Use precision measuring instruments Experience operating tow motors, overhead cranes, or similar heavy equipment RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE: Primary responsibility is to operate a large, Manual Bearing Grinder Loading work piece into machine, layout and setting program offsets Monitoring the machining process, identifying and correcting issues Unloading and deburring of semi-finished part Basic machine maintenance (simple repairs, filling oil tanks, cleaning out chips and debris) Performing in-process inspection of completed work pieces Maintaining relevant reports and documentation Keeping work area neat, clean, and organized Operating a metal cutting band saw Moving items with overhead cranes, power pushers, fork lifts, and other motorized equipment Performs all work in accordance with plant safety rules. Maintains highest quality standards in the execution of all assigned work. Performs other routine labor work as assigned and as required in accordance with production needs Performs all work in accordance with plant safety rules.
