Machinist Technician - ID/OD Grind
Are you a skilled machinist with a passion for precision? We're seeking an experienced ID/OD Grind Machinist Technician to join our dynamic team.
About the Role:
As an ID/OD Grind Machinist Technician, you'll be responsible for producing high-quality turbine engine components to exacting specifications. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring that our products meet the stringent requirements of our aerospace and marine industry clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate horizontal and vertical grind equipment to achieve precise dimensions on a variety of turbine engine components.
- Select, install, and dress grinding wheels, and ensure accurate alignment and concentricity using various work holding devices and measuring tools.
- Follow written and verbal work instructions and use approved gages and tools to inspect parts for quality.
- Accurately record findings on provided work instructions and documentation.
- Contribute to the training and development of other team members.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience operating vertical and horizontal grind, hone, and lathe equipment (CNC or manual) in a job shop or MTO environment.
- Proven track record in creative problem-solving related to machine setups, CNC programming, tooling/grinding wheels, and fixturing.
- Strong understanding of GD&T, critical dimensioning, and the relationship between dimensions.
- Demonstrated ability to edit speeds, feeds, tool offsets, and fixture offsets on CNC grind equipment.
- Experience or knowledge of rework, setting zero work offset with grinding wheels, understanding grinding wheel differences, and contributing to process development and troubleshooting.
Additional Skills:
- Familiarity with shop math principles and basic trigonometry.
- Technical drawing and documentation reading ability.
- General skills such as use of hand-held power tools, files, assembly, and disassembly.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
