Ascentec Engineering is hiring a weekend Machinist II to work on a 5-axis CNC machine.Qualified candidates must possess the necessary skills to successfully function in a quick-turn, high-speed machine shop. This position presents a great opportunity for someone with strong mechanical aptitude/skills and an attention to detail with many avenues for career growth. Set up and operate a variety of CNC machine tools and controls to produce precision parts. Schedule: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.RequirementsJOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Included, but not limited to:
- Load and unload parts for machining up to 40 pounds.
- Read and interpret manufacturing prints.
- Possess efficient math skills and basic understanding of geometric tolerance.
- Check parts using basic measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, pins, indicators and bore gauges.
- CNC setup and operation; tech tools, load programs and set/adjust work/tool offsets accordingly. Haas, Fanuc, Siemens, and Okuma controls.
- Inspect machined parts following 1st Part and in process inspection protocol.
- Must have CNC 3 & 4 axis machining experience. 5 axis is a plus.
- Able to change fixtures, replace tool changes and manage tool libraries.
- Machining and holding tolerances of +/- .0005 .
- 5s, keeping area clean and organized.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE AND TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
- Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Able to multitask and manage multiple task simultaneous.
- Experienced minimum in the set-up and run of 3axis vertical CNC mills, 4 & 5 axis is a plus.
- Experienced with multiple metrology tools for measuring and recording part dimensions.
