Includes precision instrument makers who fabricate, modify, or repair mechanical instruments. Knowledge of mechanics, mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures.Essential FunctionsPerforms all tasks in a safe and responsible manner and complies with company policies.Determine the uses of personal protective equipment (PPE); identify the safety equipment and procedures related to safe work practices and surrounding environment.Able to run and complete parts using the MRP Network.Use the MRP system to clock in and out of jobs upon set-up and completion, also knowledge of MRP to look ahead on up-coming jobs and machine set-up mill and lathe set-up.Maintaining and filling out of quality sheets to verify part tolerances.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.Maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures.Confer with engineering, supervisory, and manufacturing personnel in order to exchange technical information.Confer with numerical control programmers in order to check and ensure that new programs or machinery will function properly, and that output will meet specifications.Calculate hole-pattern layouts, threading information, inspecting and quality control, and CNC programming.Help plan a sequence for machining operations, aligning work pieces, use work holding devices, jigs and fixtures, performing threading operation on lathes and millsand perform other procedures such as I.D. boring and facing operations.Learn metallurgical terms and definitions in an effort to understand the behavior and service of metals in industry, also characteristics during heating, cooling, shaping, forming, and the stress related to their mechanical properties of materials.Ability to read and Edit CNC lathe and mill programs accordingly to set-up and machine output.Machine operator will also demonstrate the ability to manually adjust mill and lathe offsets for tool wear and machine compensation when needed.May perform other duties as assigned by management.Job QualificationsEffectively be able to communicate with internal and external customers.Able to run and complete parts using the MRP Network.Able to add, subtract, divide and multiply all units of measure, including fractions, whole numbers, decimals and percentages.Able to understand Excel programs.Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.Able to solve problems and deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations.Able to work without immediate supervision.Able to notice what work needs to be done and establish a time frame of how much time will be required to complete it.Works with power driven equipment.Frequent stooping and bending required.Works with costly metals where possibility of damage or scrap is high.Close attention and care is required to prevent damage to complex machine tools.High mental and visual effort required.Position QualificationsAmbition - The drive to achieve personal advancement.Autonomy - Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Detail Oriented - Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task.Honesty / Integrity - Ability to be truthful and be seen as credible in the workplace.Resil ent - Ability to recover from, or adjust to, misfortune or setbacks.Self-Motivated - Ability to be internally inspired to perform a task to the best of ones ability using his or her own drive or initiative.Technical Aptitude - Ability to comprehend complex technical topics and specialized information.Working Under Pressure - Ability to complete assigned tasks under stressful situations.
