The Machinist IV 3 is responsible for setting up, operating, and training on manual and CNC machines including secondary operations. The Machinist IV 3 produces fixtures, tooling, and components by setting up and operating CNC. The Machinist IV 3 maintains quality, safety, supplies and equipment. The Machinist IV 3 helps streamline production needs by working with the Machine Shop management team.Job Location:Vishay Barry is located in Attleboro, MA that is conveniently located near the main highways as well as some highly recommended restaurants. There are approximately 70 employees across two shifts working at our 40,000 sq. ft. facility of manufacturing space. This would be an on-site position.What you will be doing:
  • Produce fixturing, tooling and components using CNC machines including Matsuura, Fanuc, and Santec. Other Manual machines may be used at times.
  • Setup machine, maintain machine/tooling, perform PM and improve programs for efficiency and cost.
  • Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.
  • Performs Machine set-ups, tool offsets, edits and troubleshoots programs with minimal supervision.
  • Troubleshooting of problems or out-of-tolerance conditions. Seek solutions to minimize down-time and initiative actions to avoid like problems in the future.
  • Be aware of key metrics on quality, productivity, safety, and inventory usage and report when required.
  • Participate in periodic communication meetings with team regarding safety, quality and productivity.
  • Give input setup and process sheets.
  • Use of drawings, prints, measurement hand tools, microscopes, and computers.
  • Evaluate tooling to improve product quality.
  • Responsible to hold tight tolerances.
  • Recommend continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Complete work accurately by following written instructions and adhere to required safety rules.
  • Must be able to learn new products quickly, work independently and be highly motivated.
What you will bring along:
  • Vocational High School Diploma: preferred
  • 5+ years CNC machinist experience.
  • Applied Manufacturing Technology: preferred
  • Additional manual machine experience preferred.
  • Experience with microscopes and hand tools.
  • Experience with prints/specifications and computers.
  • ERP experience.
  • Detailed orientated with strong work ethic.
  • High level of work quality.
