Role Overview:
We are seeking skilled Machinists to join our Worcester, MA team, where you'll contribute to the creation of high-precision components using an array of manual and automated equipment. If you have a keen eye for detail and a strong background in machining, this is a great opportunity.
Core Responsibilities:
- Machine Operation: Expertly handle various machines, including ID, OD, Jig, Centerless Cylindrical, and Surface Grinders, as well as 5 Axis CNC machinery, Gang Wheel Slicers, and fine Hole Drilling (to 0.020?).
- Precision Grinding: Perform grinding tasks to exacting standards, ensuring all products meet the tight tolerances specified in the blueprints.
- Precision Cutting: Efficiently cut parts to precise dimensions using a cut-off wheel, maintaining accuracy throughout the process.
- Quality Control: Rigorously inspect all machined components with tools such as micrometers, Vernier calipers, gauges, indicators, comparators, and surface plates to confirm adherence to stringent tolerances.
- Record Keeping: Diligently document all measurements and machining data to ensure precision and traceability in production.
- Maintenance & Organization: Conduct regular maintenance to keep machines in top condition, and maintain a tidy, orderly workspace in line with company protocols.
Requirements:
- Experience: Demonstrated experience with one or more of the following: ID, OD, Jig, Centerless Cylindrical, Surface Grinders, 5 Axis CNC machinery, Gang Wheel Slicers, Hole Drilling, Lathe, and Milling machines.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong ability to program and operate manual, semi-automated, and automated machinery.
- Detail-Oriented: A sharp focus on maintaining high levels of accuracy and producing top-quality components.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities to address and resolve machining challenges.
