Join Harger Lightning and Grounding, a leader in the lightning protection industry. We are seeking an experienced Machinist for our Fairmont, NC facility to develop, implement and control all machining processes to produce and fabricate machined products.

Responsibilities

As a Machinist, you will apply the appropriate industry standards to the design, fabrication and machining of products. You will also make recommendations for new equipment, fixtures, tooling and processes.

Other responsibilities include:

• Set-up, change over, and operate CNC machines.
• Train other team members in machining processes.
• Read, understand and interpret blueprints, drawings and bill of material.
• Use controls and adjust machine settings to complete more complex tasks according to specifications.
• Effectively monitor production equipment.
• Communicate with Manager on all issues related to discrepancies on drawing or BOM.
• Inspect products and ensure they conform to specification and industry standards.
• Operate air and power tools, as needed.
• Use measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers and tape measure.

Education, Experience and Preferred Skills

• An Associate's degree in related field, or Tool & Die/Machinist certificate is required.
• 2 years of experience in same or similar position in a machine shop setting or manufacturing environment.
• CNC/manual machining with G&M code experience required. Mills and lathe machines preferred.
• Knowledge of safety, and machining practices and procedures.
• Effective communication skills; written and oral.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Proficient math ability.
• Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills.
• Work independently with little supervision or no supervision.
