ResponsibilitiesMajor Responsibilities:This skilled trade position has primary responsibilities to set up and operate conventional and special purpose lathes, mills and grinding machines within the Maintenance Department.Essential Functions:
  • Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, etc. to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
  • Measures, marks, and scribes' dimensions and reference points on material or work-piece as guides for subsequent machining as necessary.
  • Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines as necessary to machine parts as required.
  • Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors (speed, feed, coolant flow, depth/angle of cuts); input/edit computer programs; operate/observe machine in operation, detect malfunctions and make necessary adjustments to machine parts according to quality specifications.
  • Perform routine maintenance on machines as required.
  • Confer with Engineers, Production personnel, Programmers, etc. to resolve machining or assembly issues.
  • Must be able to bring projects to completion with minimal supervision.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications and Education Requirements:
  • Associate degree from two-year college or technical school or 4 to 6 years related work experience and/or training. Journeyman's papers or State Certification desired.
Additional Requirements:
  • Ability to work with and apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to develop practical solutions and problem solve.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Problem analysis and problem resolution skills.
  • Must be able to work well with peers and superiors in all departments of the Company.
  • Must adhere to all Company policies.
