Palmer Johnson Power Systems has a great opportunity for a full-time Machinist in Sun Prairie, WI. This position will work Monday through Friday daytime shift (NO NIGHTS OR WEEKENDS!) and is located in Sun Prairie, WI. We are committed to providing employees with an atmosphere that fosters and encourages job satisfaction, creativity, and development.Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Director of Service, the Machinist sets up, adjusts, and operates a variety of departmental machinery including horizontal and vertical mills, lathes, presses, and grinders to manufacture machine parts requiring very close tolerances by manual machining (not CNC).Qualifications:How do you know if you are the right fit for this job...if you can answer the following questions yes! then we want you to apply!Do you have 1-3 years of skilled trades training in machine tool operations?Do you have welding experience (AWS welding certifications, preferred)?Are you able to perform basic math calculations and perform metric conversions?Do you have good oral and written communication skills?Are you able to read and understand blueprints, specifications, and routing?Do you have a strong willingness to learn in order to strengthen your skills?Are you in good physical condition with the ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for 8 consecutive hours?Our Machinists work a M-F daytime shift- NO EVENINGS OR WEEKENDS!
