Job Type Full-time Description We are looking for a hardworking self-starter with 1+ years of experience in a machining environment. Candidates should be able to operate CNC machining equipment, including set-up, adjustments, and tool change to produce parts of moderate to high complexity that meet documented specifications. 99% of parts are 6061 aluminum with tolerances of +/- 0.005 . Experience with Haas or Mazak machines is a plus. Growing shop with A/C.
- Set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC machines (Haas, Mazak), including 3-axis machines, 5-axis machines, horizontal mills, and lathes.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GibbsCAM files to execute machining tasks.
- Perform precise machining operations to create parts that meet exact specifications and tolerances within +/- 0.005 .
- Inspect and verify parts using precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, FARO) to ensure adherence to strict quality standards.
- Assist with in-process deburr as parts complete machining operations.
- Follow established safety protocols, wear all required PPE, and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Conduct routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime. Check calibration status of assigned tools and equipment.
- Maintain a work record.
- Perform all other tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status.
- Minimum 1 year of machining experience and/or relevant technical training program.
- Ability to read and comprehend drawings, quality documents, etc.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of GD&T.
- Excellent time management with the ability to multitask and prioritize work in a fast-paced, schedule-driven environment.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Preferred, But Not Required:
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; occasionally need to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time; walk and stoop, kneel or crouch.
- Experience with multi-axis machining for high-tolerance parts.
- Familiarity with relevant materials (e.g. 6061 aluminum, copper, specialty plastics, etc.).
