Job Title: MachinistJob DescriptionThe Machinist is responsible for the set-up, layout, and operation of turning mills. The mills are Haas and run off programming. The Machinist will be expected to run prototype work and small run production for Aerospace and Medical industries. The parts vary in materials depending on industry and can range from plastics to a variety of metals.50% of the time SET-UP & LAYOUT: - Fitting of all the parts, tools, and machines in support of the machining process - Layout work from blueprints, sketches, and written instructions - Load correct programs to the machine and use G&M codes - Move controls to set cutting speeds and depths, feed rates, and position tools based on the work sketches. Setting GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing) - Set proper holding pressure on vises and collets25% of the time MACHINE OPERATION: - Operate Mill turning machine and perform tool changes as the work is being run - Select and properly load the correct fixtures for the job - Monitor speeds and feeds for the machine - Make modifications and move the machine tool according to instructions through a toolpath - Cut away excess material to leave only the finished product.25% of the time check QUALITY: - Inspect parts using instruments such as gauges, micrometers, and dial indicators - Verify documentation1st shift 6:30am - 3:00pm (overtime is worked after the shift)Hard SkillsMachining in the Nuclear/Medical/Aerospace IndustryExperience working with Haas MachinesProgramming experienceJob TypeThis is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).Work SiteThis is a fully on-site position in Dexter, Michigan.Work EnvironmentThe work environment is a manufacturing environment that is kept clean and temperature controlled. There are 8 different mills within the manufacturing area with plenty of space to move and operate between the machines.
