The Machinist will fabricate using Manual and CNC mills and lathes to machine polyethylene HDPE pipe and sheet stock into valve spacers, end caps, branch saddles, blind flanges, and similar customized structures that meet customer specifications by performing the following duties:
- Read and interpret blueprints, product drawings and pic ticket orders to determine the materials, tools and equipment needed to complete work
- Follow quality control procedures when fabricating and assembling products per customer specifications
- Maintain accurate records of materials used on ticket ; locate and pull required materials from inventory
- Sustain clean work area and equipment; follow safety procedures concerning use of equipment and materials for safe working conditions
- Operate ISCO's equipment, cranes, and forklifts
- Utilize a variety of hand tools, saws and cutting equipment
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Base Qualifications and Competencies
Education, Training and Experience:
- High School diploma or GED
- Preferred two years of experience in machining
- Master Cam programming experience
- Familiar with Mazatrol, Fanuc, or Haas control panels
- Knowledge and application of tools used in: welding, cutting, and measuring (tape measures, calipers, and micrometers)
- Understanding of carpentry and hand tools
- Read and comprehend safety rules, operations, maintenance, procedure manuals, and blueprints/drawings for fabrication
- Understand/perform math functions of basic geometry, fractions, percentages and ratios
- Interpret technical instructions in mathematical and diagram form
- Proficient use of business email and basic internet usage

Physical Demands

Work Environment
When on the job, the machine operator is:
- Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes/airborne particles
- Occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions; extremes of cold/heat, humid conditions or work in high precarious places
- The work environment exposes individual to loud noises from moving equipment and machines
