Job Description:

NOW HIRING: We are looking for a Mill or Lathe Machinist to join our Ring & Cylinder (R&C) team. The Machinist is responsible for set-ups, operating, and monitoring CNC Vertical Turning Centers, Vertical and Horizontal Milling Centers, and manual machining centers in manufacturing and producing various products following product specifications.1st shift is looking for:Lathe – either entry level 1 or mid-level 2Mill – either mid-level 2 or experienced level 3Weekend shift if looking for:Lathe – either mid-level 2 or experienced level 3Mill – either mid-level 2 or experienced level 3As a Machinist 1, you will:Select appropriate tooling and insertsCalculate and set controls to regulate machiningSets up and operate machines on trial run to verify the accuracy of machine settings or programmed control dataStart and observe machine operations to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as requiredUse a crane, hoist, forklift, or other material handling equipment to transport materials and products into and out of the work area as requiredMonitor the production board and internal paperwork from the supervisor to perform tasks in the designated sequenceVerify end parts are consistent with blueprint specificationsAccurately label all parts that require a classification for routing to the next operationRole qualifications as a Machinist 1 :One year of training to gain the basic skills to become an entry-level machinist, primarily focusing on a mill or lathe equipment. (Machinist 1)Proficient knowledge in interpreting blueprints and mechanical drawingsProficiency in performing operations using CNC equipmentAccurately use tape measure and precision measuring devicesAbility to perform basic shop math functionsAs an Experienced Machinist 2 or 3, you will:Same as a level 1 skillsConfer with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problemsExpresses logic in the determination of method/sequences of operations and selection of materialsTroubleshoot machine issues and perform tool changes, tool wear offsets or change insertsPerforms prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as requiredComplete set ups and teardownsConnect and disconnect power from machinesMinor programming may be requiredMay be required to train on a small number of machine centersRole qualifications as an Experienced Machinist 2 or 3:Preferred candidates will have a 2-year technical degree and a minimum of 5 years experience in a related area.
