This is a combination manual and CNC machining role.Graver Technologies is an Industrial Filter Element and Filter Housing (Vessel) Manufacturer located in Honeoye Falls, NY and a member of The Marmon Group (a Berkshire Hathaway Company), an international corporation with more than $9 billion in annual sales. We are seeking a journeyman Machinist to work in our Vessel Shop to support the manufacture of High-Pressure Vessels & Filter Housings.Job Summary:This is a second shift role, running from 2:00pm-10:30pm Monday-Friday. The Machinist will report to the Vessel Shop Production Supervisor and work with the team to fabricate parts that are necessary for the manufacture of High-Pressure Filter Vessels. The machinist will be extremely knowledgeable, creative and extremely efficient in the fabrication of machined parts utilizing manual machine shop tools.Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Operates fabrication machinery to produce parts used in manufacturing processes.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints and design sketches to ensure proper dimensions and specifications for parts.
  • Works closely with Design Engineers and Welders to meet customer needs
  • Selects the appropriate cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials to be used on machines.
  • Examines and measures completed units and parts to identify any defects and to ensure units conform with predetermined specifications.
  • Continuously strive for improvements of processes and efficiencies while maintain quality.
  • Inspects machinery for any needed repairs and work with maintenance department to have repairs performed. Takes care of minor repairs within expertise.
  • Maintains inventory levels of raw materials
  • Maintains cleanliness and safety of work area.
  • Complies with applicable safety standards and regulations.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Ability to operate various types of machine tools to perform tasks
  • Ability to read blueprints and plans.
  • Excellent mechanical skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Works well in a TEAM environment
Education and Experience:
  • Minimum of 3-5 years working independently in a machine shop environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Vocational/technical school training and/or apprenticeship preferred
  • Familiarity with ASME Code a plus.
