You will supervise the machine department and issue work assignments to machining personnel. Lead, coach, and train personnel to achieve quality, efficiency, 6S, and equipment maintenance standards. ResponsibilitiesThis role involves managing machine shop priorities, schedules, and budgets while overseeing safe operations and machining processes. Responsibilities include developing efficient processes, managing stock of tools, and performing or supervising complex setups and operations. The position also requires interpreting technical specifications, ensuring precise measurements, adhering to ISO 9000 standards, and maintaining a clean, organized workspace per LEAN 6S practices. Knowledge of rigging, crane operation, and measuring instruments is essential, along with flexibility to work overtime as needed.ExpectationsThe candidate must meet essential responsibilities and demonstrate required knowledge, skills, and abilities. A two-year technical degree in manufacturing technology or equivalent training, along with 15 years of machine shop experience, is required. Strong skills in reading complex drawings, using measuring instruments, and advanced math, including trigonometry, are essential. Candidates must also possess strong communication skills and the ability to solve practical problems using written, verbal, or diagram instructions.The role requires standing and walking for 70-100% of the shift, lifting up to 35 pounds frequently and up to 55 pounds occasionally. It involves frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing, and pushing/pulling.
