WAITSTAFF | JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY At Magnolia, the Waitstaff is responsible for creating the Magnolia Table experience for guests by providing prompt service, delivering quality products, and maintaining a clean and comfortable restaurant environment. This position ensures the highest level of customer care to guests by providing exceptional service and assistance. This position works from Magnolia Table in Waco, Texas. It reports to the Assistant Front of House Manager and has no supervisory responsibilities. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Uphold Magnolia's manifesto and values
  • Ensure the highest level of guest care, in line with Magnolia's brand
  • Greet and escort guests to their table
  • Present menu and provide information when asked (portions, ingredients, food allergies, etc.)
  • Relay orders to kitchen by recording guest choices, identifying special dietary needs, and taking note of special requests
  • Serve orders by running food from kitchen and delivering accompaniments and condiments from service bars
  • Follow Magnolia's steps of service to provide exceptional and timely service
  • Contribute to opening/running/closing side work (brewing coffee/tea, stocking beverage stations, filling water carafes, maintaining a clean and organized work space, etc.)
  • Contribute to a high-energy, fast-paced environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Hard skills: Proficiency in Aloha preferred
  • Soft skills: Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
  • Experience: 1-2+ years of related work experience preferred
  • Special training or licenses/certifications: Food Handler's license required upon hire
  • General availability: Must be available to work flexible hours as assigned, including weekends, special events, and holidays
PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and arms to reach, handle, feel; utilize fine motor dexterity of fingers; talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee operates in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This role routinely uses sinks, dishwashers, and tools to clean kitchen appliances. The employee is frequently exposed to hot water, potentially slippery floors, garbage disposals, and cleaning chemicals. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is intermittent sounds at a level sufficient to cause hearing loss or fatigue. The employee is subject to high temperatures and low temperatures.
