Job Title: Mail Carrier/Inventory Clerk Exemption Status/Test: NonexemptReports to: Director of Maintenance Days :260Dept./School: Maintenance Dept Date Revised: 08/16/2024Primary Purpose:Maintain district's capital assets and assist in receiving, issuing and delivering of mail, equipment, tools, and supplies and maintaining inventory control. Qualifications:Education/Certification:High school diploma or GEDSpecial Knowledge/Skills:Knowledge of capital assets and physical inventory procedures and applicable laws; Ability to interpret and disseminate information to individuals and groups;Proficiency in keyboarding and ability to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheetsdatabase, and word processing;Effective communication, interpersonal skills, and file maintenanceExperience:Two years related experienceMajor Responsibilities and Duties:Maintain Capital Assets and Physical Inventory
  • Maintain current capital assets system; process acquisition and disposal of assets.
  • Maintain district's inventory tracking system; process additions, disposals and transfer of inventory items for the district
  • Coordinate the annual physical inventory of the district's assets at all facilities.
  • Major Responsibilities and Duties
  • Perform all aspects of the requisition, exchange, and distribution of instructional materials in accordance with State and district regulations, policy, and guidelines.
  • Implement and maintain an accountable school-site instructional materials inventory management system that ensures appropriate quantities of instructional materials are available at each campus when required for instruction.
  • Plan and maintain an accountable inventory and stock control system for the fixed assets of the district and recommend replacement and disposal of assets when necessary.
  • Conduct an annual physical inventory of the district's fixed assets and instructional materials.
  • Work with district accounting, purchasing, and distribution services to ensure the timely receipt, identification, and recording of newly acquired fixed assets and instructional materials.
  • Verify accuracy of shipments and record any discrepancies or damage.
  • Load and unload delivery trucks as needed. Unpack items and inspect shipments for damage and defects.
  • Pickup and deliver materials as needed.
  • Sort and store items according to established inventory systems and procedures.
  • Conduct physical inventory of warehoused equipment, tools, and supplies and verify against inventory control totals. Maintain inventory records.
  • Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting and carrying. Operate tools, equipment, and vehicles according to prescribed safety procedures.
  • Correct unsafe conditions in work area and promptly report any conditions that are not immediately correctable to supervisor.

  • Use records management and administration procedures to ensure inventory records are maintained, preserved, and disposed of in accordance with the requirements of State and district regulations, policy, and guidelines.
  • Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents as required.
  • Keep informed of and comply with state and district policies and regulations concerning primary job functions.
  • Receive incoming calls, answer questions, and direct calls to the proper party.
  • Prepare correspondence, forms, reports, using personal computer.
  • File, maintain and keep records up to date.
  • Maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

  • Assign work to campus fixed asset and instructional materials custodians and oversee completion.
