Purpose within the organization:The purpose of the Mailroom Worker at Grand Canyon University is to receive, process and deliver incoming and outgoing mail and shipments for Students, Faculty, and Staff.
Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities/Essential Functions:- Receive, process and distribute all incoming mail and packages
- Provide excellent customer service
- Deliver mail to student mailboxes
- Deliver mail/packages to all departments on campus
- Golf cart operator - Must be able to provide a valid U.S. drivers license
- Other responsibilities as assigned by management
Equipment Used and Responsibility:- Mailing Software (utilized on a desktop and iPhone app)
Qualifications: - Must be able to work 20 hours per week
- Must maintain excellent attendance
- Must be available to work a set schedule that may include working evenings, weekends and holidays
- Ability to change from multiple tasks, while maintaining strong organizational skills
- Provide excellent attention to detail amongst a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills, time management skills and attention to detail
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work independently
- Responsible, trustworthy, and assertive
- Must be able to handle office equipment, such as a mail meter machine
- Willingness to work all areas of the Mail Center
- Ability to endure standing or moving for up to entirety of work shift. May require standing for long periods of time.
- Ability to work outdoors during times where temperatures can exceed 100 degrees.
- Must have a valid US driver's license
Experience/Education: Grand Canyon University is committed to a student first policy. Therefore, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment:
- Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor's program or Master's program.
- Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
- Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.
You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.
