Job DescriptionDescription: The Mailroom Assistant assists with operations inside the mailroom providing customer service to individuals campus wide. Intake and processing of packages, preparing outbound packages, delivering packages and mail to offices, and assisting staff with supply needs are all core functions of this position. - Sorts incoming packages, classifies and processes by type, creates appropriate package forms.
- Sorts incoming mail for students, faculty
- Aids in forwarding of mail, utilizing data prepared by others.
- Makes mail deliveries and picks up internal mail for administrative offices, delivers to faculty and student mail boxes
- Dispenses supplies and stationery to authorized offices, notifies Manager of needs.
- Takes mail to the local post office and UPS stores for delivery.
- Assists with copy center operation, including working in the copy center.
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma
- One Year experience with copier operations
- Good technical aptitude
- Computer literacy with Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of networking protocols
- Good interpersonal skills
- Work well with diverse group of people
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to work independently
- Able to follow instructions
- Positive attitude
Preferred Background:
- Previous mailroom/copy shop experience in academic environment preferred
- Personal computer experience with spreadsheets
- One year mailroom experience
