Job Description:
The Mainframe Z/OS Systems Programmer is primarily responsible for:Ongoing maintenance (install, patching, upgrades, administration, etc.) of the mainframe z/OS operating system, accompanying storage systems and systems software products (e.g., database, transaction server, security management, scheduling, report distribution, etc.), and UNIX Systems Services.Ongoing maintenance and upgrades of DB2.Upgrades of mainframe and related storage.The candidate will be required to provide production off hour coverage (if necessary) and support periodic weekend implementations.MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCENote: Candidates who do not have the mandatory skills will not be considered.The candidate must have experience with VTAM and TCP/IP.10+ years of experience working with z/OS, JES2, SMP/E, TSO, IOCP/HCD.Basic IBM utilities (IDCAMS, IEFBR14, etc.) program product installations, working knowledge of the IBM virtual tape system and Unix System Services.Working knowledge of CICS, IMS, DB2 and AFP printing is a plus.Experience in using monitoring tools such as OMEGAMON.Working with an enterprise-wide, large-scale implementation.Excellent communications skills (Oral and written), interpersonal, and organizational skills are required.The candidate must have experience with mainframe CPU installs as a systems programmer consultant.Bachelor's degree or 10+ years of experience in a relevant technical field is required.If you are interested in getting more information about this opportunity, please contact Irina Rozenberg at Recruiting@ at your earliest convenience.At Ariel Partners, we solve the most difficult problems that inhibit technology from enabling our customers to achieve their goals.
