POSITION SUMMARY
The Planner/Scheduler has working knowledge of Critical Path Method (CPM) Scheduling techniques and Earned Value functionality in general. This person will also have knowledge and working experience using P3, P6, and other scheduling tool applications. In addition, the Planner/Scheduler must understand all aspects of project controls, from estimating to job close-out and job-tracking. Must be able to understand issues and problems that arise out of job sites and be able to communicate to upper management the issues at hand.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Interface with site supervision and superintendent, owner/client, and home office contacts on matters relating to project scope, schedule, progress and performance.
* Analyze schedule logic, activity durations, constraints, float, resource loading, and review critical paths.
* Conduct field walks with Engineering, project leads and field supervision to gain clear understanding of scope and execution strategies, support craft needs and identify safety requirements to ensure safety is planned into every step.
* Work with site management in driving organizational structure (headcount) based on historical trends and manpower forecasts.
* Perform schedule risk analysis to establish an acceptable level of contingency in overall cycle time.
REQUIREMENTS:
* Advanced computing skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Suite. Intermediate working knowledge of Primavera Project Planner (P3, P6, Microsoft Projects)
* Candidate must be able to wear?fall protection and wear Flame Resistant Clothing (FRC), climb stairs & ladders, operate digital cameras to satisfy the items listed in Job Description above.
* Comprehension of plans, drawings, isometrics, and P&IDs
* Thorough understanding of proven scheduling techniques and practices
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Previous Zachry Planning/Scheduling experience
* Field Experience with executing work on the petro/chemical industry
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
* Physical ability to perform routine audits/visits of shop floor activities.
* Physical ability to perform bid informational job/site walks along with ability to climb ladders and stairs when required inside of industrial Oil/Chemical facilities.
* Additionally, may be asked to meet following physical demands standing, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, and/or reaching.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
* Working conditions infrequently involve some physical exertion, exposure to the elements or hazards inherent in the job which may include routine travel.
* Work is primarily sedentary; exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
