Summary:Performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled activities pertaining to maintenance of KCARC facilities, equipment and vehicles.Essential Duties
- Assists Agency Maintenance Manager with the development and implementation of a preventative maintenance program for all KCARC facilities, and equipment.
- Maintain and repair all KCARC facilities and equipment as needed. This includes participation and follow through with all inspections completed by outside sources.
- Maintain all KCARC physical locations in sound working condition.
- Monitor KCARC facilities for storm damage, storm debris, downed trees/limbs and electrical lines at all times, with special attention after storms.
- Maintain and keep account of all KCARC maintenance equipment.
- Maintain records of transactions; including, but not limited to: purchase requests, purchase orders, vendor receipts, and petty cash transactions.
- Prepare necessary administrative reports and forms for an efficient maintenance operation; including, but not limited to: monthly maintenance inspection reports, purchase requests, and vehicle inspection forms. Submit all reports and forms to Agency Maintenance Manager at the designated interval (determined by Agency Maintenance Manager and/or listed on the forms).
- Assist Agency Maintenance Manager in obtaining estimates on work to be completed by Maintenance Services personnel and/or outside contractors.
- Assist Agency Maintenance Manager in working with local, state, and federal agencies to assure all planned work meets building codes and government regulations pertaining to KCARC operations.
- Assist as needed in moving equipment, appliances, etc.
- Document inspections including, but not limited to: fire systems, lift stations, vehicle maintenance, etc.
- Maintain trimming and removal of plants/trees in and under KCARC landscaping and trees.
- Will be on call various weekends and after hours based upon maintenance phone schedule.
- Be able to frequently lift up to 75 pounds independently and over 100 pounds with assistance.
- All other duties as deemed necessary.

Education and/or Experience:High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred. Extensive experience in maintenance work including knowledge of all facets of construction. Experience in automotive and small engine repair helpful. Occasional lifting up to or exceeding 100 pounds with assistance; frequent lifting of 10-30 pounds. Frequent bending, stooping, overhead movement, reaching, pulling, pushing will be required. Must be able to read, write, and use calculator.Certifications/Licenses/Registrations:Valid drivers license.Work Environment:While performing the duties of this job, the staff is occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles and outside weather conditions. The noise level is usually moderate but occasionally loud. Use of Personal Protective Equipment such as vinyl or latex gloves is occasionally required.
