The most successful candidate for this position:

  • Graduate of an accredited high school or GED program.
  • Maintenance apprenticeship desirable.
  • Computer knowledge is desirable.
  • Must be in good physical and mental health
  • Ability to work independently or part of a group
  • Demonstrates the ability to remain calm and perform effectively during peak periods of activity and emergency situations
  • Effectively interacts with residents, their family members, and the healthcare team members

The responsibilities & duties:

  • Implement required maintenance procedures in an efficient, cost-effective manner meeting all federal, state, and local requirements, while providing a safe environment for our residents.
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decision when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
  • Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm.
  • Manage emergency situations in a prompt, precise, and professional manner
  • Maintains accurate, detailed reports and records.
  • Basic understanding of following step-by-step instructions.
  • Follows and understand written and oral directions.
  • Knowledge of equipment used in long-term care (e.g., lifts, wheelchairs, Geri chairs, and scales).
