Maintenance AssistantJob Overview:We are seeking a reliable and versatile Maintenance Assistant to join our team. This role will involve a combination of cleaning duties and general maintenance tasks, with at least half of the role dedicated to performing routine and preventative maintenance work around the school. The Maintenance Assistant will ensure that our facility remains clean, safe, and in excellent working condition.Key Responsibilities:
- Cleaning & Housekeeping:
- Perform routine cleaning of classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas.
- Maintain cleanliness of floors, windows, and surfaces.
- Assist in organizing and restocking supplies as needed.
- Maintenance & Repairs:
- Conduct general maintenance tasks, including minor repairs, painting, carpentry, and plumbing work.
- Perform preventative maintenance on school equipment and systems.
- Address maintenance requests promptly and efficiently.
- Assist with setting up and breaking down for school events, including moving furniture or equipment.
- Monitor and inspect building conditions, ensuring all areas are safe and functional.
Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of building systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, etc.).
- Experience in maintenance and repair work, preferably in a school or similar environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects when needed.
- Good communication skills and a proactive attitude.
Schedule:Full-time, with flexibility as needed for maintenance emergencies or special projects.
