Job Description:
Job DescriptionPosition Summary: The Maintenance Assistant plans and performs work relating to upkeep and repair of camp facilities, grounds, vehicles and equipment. Essential Responsibilities:
  • Assist with cleaning and trash collection
  • Assist in keeping work area clean, stocked and well organized while ensuring proper State and Insurance needs
  • Must be able to comprehend and execute operating, safety, and cleaning instructions for all camp equipment
  • Assist in moving materials and supplies to appropriate areas in camp
  • Assist in maintaining fleet vehicles including boats, golf carts and tractors
  • Assist with small engine repair
  • Maintain grounds to reduce the risk of danger or injury to persons using grounds and facilities
  • Assist with general electrical, plumbing, construction, painting, mechanical and grounds work
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications: Education/Experience:
  • High School Diploma preferred orany equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Has a basic knowledge and understanding of general maintenance including carpentry, roofing, plumbing, HVAC, and vehicle maintenance
Skills, Knowledge Abilities:
  • Complete Safe From Harm training and keep current as needed
  • Maintain confidentiality
Computer Skills:
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office
Certificates and Licenses:
  • Must have a current valid Michigan Driver's license with a chauffeurs' endorsement and pass The Salvation Army Motor Vehicle Record Check (MVR)
