Introduction Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs Making a difference in the lives of Wisconsin veteransThe Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs (WDVA) currently has an opening for a Human Services Program Coordinator (Veterans Outreach and Recovery Coordinator). This position works as part of the Veterans Outreach and Recovery Program (VORP) assists with referring area veterans to available services.This is a project position and is scheduled to end June 30, 2025. Position Summary This position serves as WDVA Regional Program Coordinators, providing a vast array of support services for Wisconsin veterans and their families throughout each position's assigned region. The incumbent conducts outreach support in the form of case management to veterans, ensuring connection to continual and effective treatment. The position provides life sustaining and betterment resources to veterans and their families which may include behavioral health, housing, and employment resources.The incumbent of this position also provides liaison support to community and government organizations which serve Wisconsin's veteran population; promoting veterans' benefits to maximize delivery to Wisconsin veterans. Other duties include attending events such as workshops, town hall meetings, stand-downs, and benefit fairs.For reference see a full copy of the position description . Salary Information The starting pay rate for these Human Services Program Coordinator positions is between $27.59 and $30.60 an hour ($57,387 and $ 63,648 annually). Current state employees' pay will be based on the provisions in the State of Wisconsin Compensation Plan. This classification is in Pay Schedule 07, Pay Range 04. Job Details This position's headquarter city will be based on the selected candidate's location.WDVA will conduct criminal background checks prior to an offer of hire.Due to the nature of this position's duties, the work location may at times include confinement facilities such as jails and/or prison facilities as well as facilities that serve homeless populations.This position will require frequent statewide travel which may necessitate driving and/or working in remote areas. This position may also periodically work evening and weekend hours.The incumbent must possess or be eligible to obtain a valid Wisconsin driver's license prior to appointment and meet and maintain the standards for driving a state vehicle according to fleet management policies .Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e., a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship) at the time of application.   • Providing program outreach (e.g., initiate face-to-face meetings with clients, identify outreach opportunities, organize events, distribute program resources, etc.); and
  • Conducting case management (e.g., work with clients on service referrals, perform initial client screening, maintain case management records, etc.); and
