Take an active role prioritizing safety for yourself and others to ensure all assigned plants have zero accidents and are in total compliance with all Vulcan policies and procedures.Maintain Compliance. Build a strong safety culture to ensure the plant is in compliance with Vulcan's safety, operations, and environmental policies and procedures. Ensure the health and safety of employees to continuously improve the Vulcan's health & safety performance.Maintain the Inspection/work order/repair/documentation process Assist and organize the work of employees in the daily inspection and maintenance of the plant to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operations to maximize production and minimize interruptions.Coordinate the process of area/equipment inspections, review of inspection results, establishing work orders based on the inspection results and preparing daily line-out documentation to coordinate completion of work orders. Follow up with inspection of completed work as necessary to ensure adherence to acceptable standards.Ensure lubrication routines are completed fully and on schedule, including greasing, oil sampling, and oil changes. Gather oil samples, package and ship to the testing center. Review test results and take appropriate actions to ensure longevity of equipment and reduction of downtime. This includes owning the EMS process for stationary equipment and ensuring that EMS is properly updated and maintained as work is completed.Maintain equipment history and rebuild schedules to the level necessary for the complexity of the plant but to include critical equipment such as belt conveyors, crushers, screens, pit dewatering pumps, etc. Maintain belt conveyor survey information including last belt change, next expected belt change, and estimated costs to assist with budget development.Monitor inventories of necessary supplies for the plant including conveyor components, bearings, motors, screens, crusher components, lubricants and replenish as needed.Purchase needed supplies, parts, and equipment as needed to facilitate the proper completion of maintenance activities within the plant. Assess daily needs with respect to plant maintenance - beginning with shift turnover at 0500 hrs, review issues/activities that may/or may not have occurred during the night shift and allocate resources to address the situation.Additional Responsibilities. Other duties as assigned.QualificationsSkills You'll Need:Experience. Previous experience working on diesel or heavy construction equipment is preferred. Knowledge of Best Practices. Knowledge of general principles and practices of servicing heavy construction equipment is preferred.Flexibility. Must be willing to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands. Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.Mechanical Skills.
