Job Description:
Position SummaryThe Salvation Army Northern Division Noble Corps Maintenance Custodian is responsible for performing cleaning, minor maintenance, and groundskeeping. The Custodian is also responsible for transporting donations and supplies.$13.65 - 20.48 hr10011 Noble Parkway, Brooklyn Park, MN 55443Essential Functions (approximate time spent)
  • Perform custodial duties to maintain clean, tidy, and sanitary conditions throughout the building. (70%)
  • Load, unload, and drive food/donation deliveries. (10%)
  • Maintain vehicle fleet, including cleaning and scheduling maintenance. (5%)
  • Perform minor repair work to maintain safety and within scope of training/regulations. (5%)
  • Assist with special/seasonal events, including room set up, driving supplies, etc. (5%)
  • Maintain grounds, including snow/ice removal. (5%)
Education and Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two years of custodial experience.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license, possess or be able to obtain within 90 days a DOT Medical Examiners Certificate, and meet MVR requirements.
  • Pass background checks.
Competencies
  • Working knowledge of safe handling of equipment, chemicals, and materials regularly used in basic maintenance and custodial duties.
  • Ability to perform some or all physical tasks including lifting, scrubbing, sweeping, mopping, and other custodial duties.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient with PC, Microsoft Office, and databases.
Working Conditions
  • Regular physical work including lifting, bending, kneeling, climbing, walking, and standing.
  • Must be able to regularly lift 50 pound and occasionally lift 100 pounds.
  • Professional environment; not eligible for a remote-friendly work environment.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly with colleagues.
Supervisory ResponsibilitiesNone.Driving/Travel Requirements Regular local travel by agency or personal vehicle. Rare out-of-area travel.
