Purpose

The purpose of the Maintenance Electrical Specialist position is to maintain the equipment in the facilities to industry standards. This role will play a critical role in maintaining production schedules and preventative maintenance cycles.

Main Responsibilities

  • Support operators with training/mentoring.
  • Work with plant/process engineer on improvements and automation.
  • Provide technical troubleshooting support throughout the facility.

Specific Duties

  • Maintain electrical/ electronic devices that provide power from plant distribution, machines, equipment and other gear.
  • Use preventative and corrective maintenance techniques to diagnose, isolate and repair electrical/ mechanical problems throughout facility.
  • Use test instruments, to verify proper service in all equipment, circuits, controls, components and devices to assure proper operation, performance and quality.
  • Perform all job duties in accordance with applicable standards, techniques, drawings, and equipment, engineering specifications, safety requirements, NEC and applicable codes and regulations.
  • Work routinely with electrical distribution gear, motors, controls, components, standard devices and wiring.
  • Recognize voltages at primary and secondary levels, exercises proper care and safety precautions when working with all voltages.
  • Maintain safe and orderly working conditions/environment and performs work in such a way as to not endanger oneself or fellow employees.
  • Responsible for keeping supervisor informed of work-related problems and the progress of work assignments.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on machines and equipment.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of maintenance experience.
  • Electrical/Electronics/High Voltage experience.
  • PLC troubleshooting experience.
  • Certificate in Industrial maintenance preferred.

  • Ability to use experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain good relationships to influence results and maintain credibility.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask projects concurrently.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Working knowledge of electrical / power systems, motors, control systems, PLCs, machine language, industrial computer systems, hydraulics, pumps, motors, fixturing / tooling, and metal fabrication.
  • Ability to read and interpret ladder logic diagrams to trouble shoot PLC's
