Position Description
This position is responsible for the design, installation, & maintenance of a broad range of electrical systems and equipment in the plant including plant electrical infrastructure, PLC and HMI systems and robotic equipment.
This role will also, participate with Manufacturing Engineering on Capital Rehabilitation program: Forecast funding for program, allocate funds for individual projects, work with project coordinators as required and coordinate projects as appropriate
Responsibilities:
• Design/Implement modifications to electrical systems of current machines or new equipment to improve the safety and manufacturing process
• Maintain plant power distribution system
• Oversee the storage of new electrical prints and programmable processor programs
• Oversee the development and maintenance of systems for generating and updating electrical prints
• Track and reduce electrical cost and consumption
• Forecast and balance electrical loads
• Develop and maintain a contingency plan in the event of electrical supply catastrophe
• As needed design and program PLC, HMI, robots and other types of electronic or electrical manufacturing equipment.
• Lead in the trouble shooting of malfunctioning equipment.
• Continuous improvement activities such as cycle time reduction, standardization of existing equipment and incorporation of error proofing strategies.
Requirements:
• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred
• 3- 5 years of Electrical Engineering experience working with controls and facilities preferred
• Experience in manufacturing environment preferred
• Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and motion controls preferred
• Thorough knowledge of PC's, PLC's & CNC controls preferred
• Experience on CAD system preferred
