Job Description

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Maintenance Engineer Manager plans and manages all plant maintenance functions, facilities up-keep, Machine Shop, and environmental compliance; contributing to the smooth functioning of the organization and enhances the quality of life and working conditions for employees. Performs plant engineering duties in regards to building maintenance, infrastructure, remodeling, new equipment, tooling and building contracts. Responsible for providing technical leadership and guidance in the areas of facilities planning, building and equipment technology, project management, maintenance and repair, construction and renovation, grounds, security and facility cleaning and care and other related assignments in support of all Zurn Wilkins operations.

Key Accountabilities

* Manages, plans, schedules and prioritizes work for all maintenance activities. Provides expertise, guidance and oversight of troubleshooting activities.

* Manages a team of 10 hourly associates.

* Responsible for all associated budgets related to the Maintenance and Machine Shop departments and all manufacturing Maintenance accounts.

* Coordinates outside contracting services for any work to the facilities or maintenance/engineering projects.

* Continuously improve the preventative maintenance program, including Performing root cause analysis for abnormal conditions/failures and taking required corrective and preventative actions to prevent recurrence.

* Administrator of CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System); establishes and maintains the PM program including planning, scheduling and prioritization of this system.

* Plans and designs processes, fixturing, custom equipment and fabrication (including CNC and PLC).

* Accepts or rejects work orders, providing estimates for make/buy decisions. Approves and purchases repair parts, contractor work and work order materials.

* Maintains contact with corporate EHS team, keeping informed on regulations regarding all aspects of safety environmental regulation. Ensures that internal operations are commensurate with EHS requirements.

* Oversees the planning and coordination of maintenance support activities for continuous improvement, safety, upkeep etc.

* Works closely with site managers and associates to resolve maintenance / facilities problems and issues.

* Ability to read and comprehend equipment manufacturer operating manuals, design documents and blueprints.

* Identify opportunities to implement changes improving manufacturing processes and product cost.

* Troubleshoot new or existing product problems involving designs, materials, or processes.

* Any other job duties as assigned; a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

Qualifications/Requirements

* Bachelors Degree in Engineering Field or equivalent trade school and/or on the job experience.

* Minimum of 5 years progressive experience in Maintenance/Plant Engineering and environmental role in a manufacturing environment.

* Good writing/administrative skills, excellent computer skills (word processing, graphics, spreadsheets, data analysis etc.)

* Strong leadership and mentoring skills with proven ability to develop employees (lead by example)

* Ability to manage multiple projects at one time.

* Proficient with 3D design, preferably with AutoCAD.

* Self motivated with strong adaptability and experience to quickly review a problem and make decisions.

* Previous hands-on maintenance background.

* Knowledge of CMMS system preferred.

* Demonstrated proficiency in time and project management.

The compensation range(s) identified abo are a good faith estimate of the salary expected to be paid as performed from these locations. Actual salaries may vary based on a variety of factors including but not limited to skillset, experience, education and training; and other relevant business and organizational factors. Most candidates will start in the lower half of the range.
