POSITION SUMMARY Under general supervision, performs preventative maintenance and repairs on buildings, equipment, machinery and grounds. QUALIFICATIONSRequired: Three (3) years' experience in maintenance, electrical or mechanical field required; knowledge of methods and techniques used in electrical, mechanical, and building maintenance; knowledge of electrical and building codes preferred; Possession of valid Oregon driver's license; excellent driving record and ability to be insured by the hospital's auto insurance policy. Preferred:Electrical/plumbing license. TYPICAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS Medium-heavy to Very Heavy physical demand level capabilities required. Must be able to work independently as well as with co-workers and patients. Must be able to prioritize work demands and organize time efficiently. - Inspects, tests, adjusts and repairs all Physical Plant machinery, heating, cooling, piping and electrical systems, and records maintenance in accordance with schedules.
- Operates and maintains all Physical plant machinery and equipment.
- Replaces, repairs and calibrates HVAC components, and replaces filters.
- Constructs and repairs building structure, walls, floor, ceiling, cabinets and furniture.
- Tests and operates emergency generators.
- Inspects, tests, cleans, and may repair fire equipment, alarms, switches, and sensors.
- Inspects, adjusts and repairs miscellaneous hospital equipment including beds, autoclaves, centrifuge, meat slicers and ovens.
- Maintains record of all inspections, tests, and repairs.
- Performs security checks of building, parking lot and equipment.
- Removes ice and snow from walkways, roads, and parking lot during winter months.
- Responds to safety and security calls.
- Inventories orders and changes medical gases and LOX.
- Maintains competency in all position responsibilities.
- Demonstrates competence in relation to the defined mission, vision, values, and strategic plan of the organization. This will be apparent by ongoing completion of any or all of the following: proficiency testing, skill demonstration, practice of core standards for service excellence, and documentation review.
