The position will provide a first line of supervision andleadership to our environmental aides and maintenance coordinators. The environmental work is common to what may be found in most public facilities such as general cleaning, floor care, and ordering janitorial maintenance supplies. Maintenance coordinators schedule, assign, and perform routine maintenance work, oversee contractors hired for specific tasks, and complete housekeeping and event assignments, including event set up and break down.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:ManagementDevelopment and management of weekly/monthly departmental and Museum-wide service schedule.Provide hands-on coaching and work alongside team members daily.Manage supply inventory and purchases for department.Attend events planning and other meetings as required.Interview, select, and onboard departmental staff.Train, coach, mentor, and conduct employee annual appraisals and disciplinary actions as required.Make termination recommendations when appropriate, and conduct termination proceedings with support from Human Resources.Monitor employee attendance, correct/approve timesheets and time off requests, ensure proper staffing.Work within departmental budget when scheduling staff and acquiring supplies.Environmental & Building OperationsMaintain internal Museum facility to excellent and appropriate standards of cleanliness.Maintain grounds, particularly the steps, ramps, and sidewalks around the facility.Communicate effectively with contractors to facilitate facility repairs and maintenance.Handle minor repairs, follow up with facility service requests, and call the appropriate contractors for more complicated or specialty repairs when appropriate.Set up and break down tables, chairs, and other equipment for meetings and events.Perform all duties of environmental aides and maintenance coordinators as needed to ensure departmental objectives are met.Qualifications:High school diploma or GED required. Minimum 5 years' experience working in custodial services and/or facility maintenance. Experience as a team leader or supervisor is valuable. Selected candidate must obtain a 10-hour OSHA training card within the first six months of employment. Must be flexible to work additional hours, including evenings and weekends or to cover shifts as needed. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds is required for event set up and break down. Ability to operate mechanical floor scrubbers, polishers, vacuums. Ability to climb ladders/scaffolds as required periodically. Proficiency with written communication and Microsoft Office. Must have a good driving record and ability to operate cargo/box truck.Minimum of Range: $27.47 per hour; commensurate with experience.Work Hours: Full-Time (40 hours/week).
