What You Will Do

Responsible for providing leadership and guidance around safety and operations of the Physical Plant and exterior buildings. Maintain and operate high pressure steam boilers, absorption chillers, steam turbines, high voltage generators, and auxiliary equipment at an on-site cogeneration plant that produces combined heat and power (CHP).

  • Monitor control board and regulates equipment, according to procedures and information obtained from recording and indicating instruments
  • Facilitate repairs & modifications to equipment, including preventative maintenance in Power Plant and Facilities
  • Responsible for parts ordering and inventory
  • Coordination of work with outside contractors
  • Provide coaching and mentoring of Maintenance Engineers
  • On call for emergency repairs
  • Other duties as assigned

  • 5000 HP Rolls Royse Gas Turbine Engine
  • 13KV Generator
  • 650 PSI Heat Reclaim Boiler
  • 150 PSI Boiler (2)
  • Air Compressors (3)
  • R & D, DI Regeneration System
  • Water Softener System
  • Fire Pumps, Distribution equipment and monitoring equipment.
  • Johnson Controls Building Monitoring/Control System
  • Emergency Generators
  • Forklift Equipment
  • 1000 Ton Trane Absorption Chiller (2)
  • 1000 Ton Carrier Centrifugal Chiller
  • Condenser Water Cooling Towers
  • 13,000 V Switch Gear
  • Nalco 3D Trasor units (3)
  • Data Center BAC Cooling System

Additional Requirements:

  • Snow Removal Equipment (including 2-yard bucket End loader)
  • Complete Confined Space and Hazmat Training
  • Conduct chemical analysis on various equipment/water.
  • Complete Basic Electrical Training
  • Complete First Aid/CPR/AED Training
  • Perform Basic Mechanical and Plumbing Repair
  • Knowledge of computer systems including Outlook
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Position Details:

  • Location: Naperville, IL
  • Work hours: 4:00PM - 12:30AM (must have flexibility to work other shifts as needed)
  • Work weeks available: Tuesday - Saturday OR Sunday - Thursday
  • Compensation Package: $54.00/hr
  • Sign-on Bonus: $4,000

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 3 years of experience in an industrial maintenance environment working with electrical and mechanical systems

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to perform all physical duties
  • Must be able to climb ladders, lift 75lbs.
  • Must be capable of completion of hazmat training
  • Must be able to pass background check, drug test

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Formal vocational training in plant maintenance activities with an emphasis on industrial applications or equivalent job experience in electricity, power distribution, industrial electrical wiring, mechanics, machine operations, general plumbing, heating ventilation, and air conditioning, boiler operations.
  • Prior coaching or leadership skills preferred
  • 1 year of experience with PLC based applications in an industrial environment
  • 1 year of plumbing, pipefitting, pump repair and rebuilding experience
  • Experience with pumps, welding, bearings, electrical safety, forklifts, gears, hydraulics, valves, and rigging.
  • Experience in a TPM or Lean Six Sigma environment
  • Refrigeration Certification
  • Welding experience
  • Snow Removal Experience
  • Stationary Engineers License
